What is Games Day?
Games Day is the meeting of people who are interested in game playing and miniature painting. On Games Day there will be role playing, miniature battles, collectible card games, and miniature painting demonstrations run by experienced Game Masters for players to participate in. The game room will also be open for any gamers to come and play whatever games they would like to or you can just come to watch. Call 596-8236 with any questions about any of our activities.
Games Day Special Announcement!
All persons attending Other Realms Games Day will be entitled to a 20% discount on all games and game accessories at the shop that are purchased on May 24th!!! There is also an Awesome Prize Drawing for over $300.00 of merchandise in the afternoon and special sales on games and accessories!!!
When and Where is Games Day?
Games Day will be held at the Kewalo conference room at the Ward Warehouse. It's on the second floor across from Other Realms. The event will take place on Sunday, May 24th. The room will open at 10:00 AM, all registered players should be there by 10:15 AM. Registered players arriving later than 10:30 AM may jeopardize their positions as players for these games. The room will be open all day for people to come and go as they please. Games will end promptly at 5:30 PM and the room must be cleared by 6:00 PM.
There will be a $2.00 charge at the door per person.
This door fee will be waived for game judges and referees for scheduled events.
Miniature Painting Contest!
Other Realms will hold a miniature painting contest at Games Day. There will be $25.00 gift certificates for all 1st place winners and prizes for honorable mentions. All winning figure(s) will be on display at Other Realms (pending owners approval) after Games Day. There will be 3 categories for the main miniature painting competition. Both fantasy and science-fiction based miniatures may be entered. They are: Single Figure (figures may be mounted and/or a standard bearer), Vehicle, and Command Group and/or Regiment. We well also have our Youngbloods category. This is open for those of age 15 and younger. They may enter anything falling into the 3 categories previously mentioned. And will receive a $10.00 gift certificate for 1st place. There will be an entrance fee of $0.50 for each entry made into any category. You may enter as many categories as many times as you like. Figures will be judged on painting skills, originality, and overall appeal. Those wishing to participate in the contests must bring their entries and register at Games Day by 1:00pm. Winners will be announced at the close of the day.
Miniature Demo Table!
Bring down your paints, miniatures, models, and brushes. The table will be open all day for any who wish to paint, build, or watch. Here is a chance to ask questions and share tips with other painters and builders. Whether you are just beginning and would like to learn more, or you are a veteran who would like to exchange ideas, there will be something for all.
